Apogee is the prime contractor for the demolition of three R-11, 4160-volt, 1,000-ton centrifugal chillers and their associated condenser water and chilled water pumps.
Corrections to piping distribution and pump sizing are required to allow any pump to work with any chiller, as well as allow any chiller to work with any cooling tower.
The DDC system will be upgraded to allow optimal chiller plant control and communication with the EMC manufactured by Automated Logic.
An evaluation of the chiller plant size was completed and a life-cycle cost analysis of three alternate chiller plant replacements was performed with the Con Edison C&I incentive program reviewed for cash incentives.
New work will include the provision of three 1,200-ton, 4160-volt, centrifugal chillers with variable frequency drives and the removal of all five primary chilled water pumps, condenser water pumps, as well as the chillers.
