Apogee Consulting Group provided electrical and mechanical engineering design to renovate a mock courtroom in the University of North Carolina (UNC) Chapel Hill Law School. Field investigations revealed that existing power was only adequate for the new electrical design. Therefore, electrical design could proceed with the upgrades. These upgrades include energy efficient LED lighting, new electrical outlets, a data system hardwired to jacks, and new fire alarm devices compatible with the existing system. The courtroom is up-to-date with 21st century amenities such as computer monitors for the judge, attorneys, and jurists; as well as a large drop down screen for presentations. Mechanical design consists of new ducts for the HVAC system.
