Apogee Consulting Group provided electrical engineering for the construction of a military headquarters building.

Serving as prime contractor, Apogee provided design for substantial upgrades to the telecommunications infrastructure to facilitate the deployment of a robust electronic health records program for the entire VA Alexandria Healthcare System which includes the main VAMC campus and five CBOC’s. These upgrades will reset the telecommunications infrastructure to a modern system that can support an ever-changing landscape of technology for years to come. The upgrades include new cabling, new telecommunications rooms with proper space allocation, and full redundancy throughout the system to protect against accidental or intentional interruption of service. Project tasks included: Architectural design including providing design for new telecommunication rooms per VA guidelines and standards. Most of the rooms are minor interior renovations. Low Voltage design, including providing design for all low voltage systems. Design included special consideration for cabling; cabling entered and exited on two sides of the room for redundancy. New four-post data racks were provided in the new telecommunications room with copper and fiber patch panels to accommodate the new cables. Fire Protection Design including sprinkler work will support the telecom room renovations required as part of the EHRM upgrades. Mechanical Design including providing HVAC design to maintain required cooling necessary to keep the telecommunication rooms within the required temperature range. This included DDC controls with sensors for temperature and humidity. Apogee also performed a Life Cycle Cost Analysis for Building 7 as well. Electrical Design included each telecommunication room receiving two new electrical panelboards. Design included new LED lighting fixtures as well as occupancy sensors for the telecommunication rooms.

Apogee was tasked with the replacement of air-handlers AHU-1 and AHU-23 at the VAMC in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

This project improved the reliability and availability of campus-wide emergency power, achieved by the replacement of numerous generators that serve individual buildings with two 2MW, medium-voltage (13.8 kV) emergency generators.As the prime design contractor, Apogee Consulting Group provided electrical engineering services and project management for the evaluation, design, and installation of the new system.

Apogee provided project management and design services for the construction of a one-story, standalone building for the primary care and women’s health clinics at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Ga. The new building will right-size primary care space through two Patient-Aligned Care Teams (PACT) and create a new women’s health clinic to accommodate the growing workload and demand for services.

Apogee was tasked to design a new 2-story 23,192 SF facility and renovate 1,058 SF of Building 1 to create a new outpatient specialty/ancillary care cancer center building connected into the new building. Design also considered future growth for 2-story vertical expansion in Phase 2.

Apogee Consulting Group provided MEP services for the replacement of the roof on Building 1 of the Fort Wayne campus of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The five-story building consists of 34 distinct roof areas for a total surface area of 61,000 SF. The facility houses inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services.

Apogee Consulting Group is the prime consultant providing project management, design services, and healthcare planning for both the short and long-term growth of the emergency department in order to accommodate increasing patient loads.The project includes the schematic design for a total of 36 monitored beds.
